Ericsson Type 44 Linesman's Phone


 This was found in an attic and donated by Paul Berry from Burley. Although I've called it a Type 44, it may in fact be a Model N1830A made in England and having three magneto magnets (see below)


 The handset can be extended.


 Removing the electrical part of the phone from its box shows its in perfect condition. This part uses spring loaded contacts rather than wires to connect it to parts in the base of the box.. condenser and battery.







 At the bottom of the wooden box is mounted a large condenser with the markings shown and below this is the battery compartment.
