Valve amplifiers

Typical of many valve amplifiers, this model uses a pair of high gain pentodes to drive a loudspeaker through a hefty matching transformer.

This example uses a pair of EL34 valves but 6L6, KT66 or KT88 types were also used in this era.

This model is a bit of a mystery as it carries no makers name just a label with Model STD373/DLS written nearby. In fact the actual label is blank and the number is written in white paint above it on the chassis.

It is clearly a good make as the mains transformer and thew output transformer tops are chrome plated. Unfortunately this is now in poor condition as the amplifier has been stored in damp conditions.

Can anyone identify it?
