Ever Ready Sky King

A sturdy portable radio from 1956.

A straightforward design which looks easy to service. A frame aerial is stretched around four pegs, one at each corner of the board holding the loudspeaker and chassis. The construction allows for the complete radio innards to be easily detached from the outer case. The small transformer at the top of the chassis is a bit odd because it's held in place with only one screw... is it a replacement or a factory change? Note the nice arrangement of trimmers and padders.

The nice clear dial carries unpretentious stations. The label below has the battery information and the valve line-up.
